Weekly tickets

You can only buy a weekly ticket from Friday to Wednesday. These tickets will be valid from the coming Tuesday until the next Monday.

NB: If the ticket is purchased on the Wednesday, it will be valid for travel until the next Monday.

Monthly tickets

Buying tickets for the following months

For months that have 30 days, you can buy ticekts from the 21st to the 30th. This ticket will be valid from the 1st to the last day of the month.

For months with 31 days, you can buy tickets from the 22nd to the 31st. These tickets will be valid from the 1st to the last day of the next month.

Buying tickets for the current month

You can buy tickets between the 1st and the 6th of the month, which will be valid from the purchase date until the last day of that month.

How to redeem your ticket

Once you have purchased your ticket, you will be sent a ticket reference number via SMS to your registered Cellphone Banking cellphone number, which can be used to redeem the ticket from either the Express Kiosk or Metrorail Station to use the Metrorail service.

No banking fee

FNB doesn't charge a transaction fee for these purchases, you only pay the price of your ticket.
