How can we help you get started?

If you would like to open a new account:

  • Visit www.fnb.co.za and click on 'Apply Online now' in the top section of the homepage
  • Call 0860 FASTAP (0860 327 827)
  • Existing customers can log onto FNB Online Banking (www.fnb.co.za) using your username and password. Click on 'New Accounts' on the left hand side on the Accounts tab.

If you would like to upgrade your account:

  • Logon to FNB Online Banking (www.fnb.co.za) using your username and password
  • Select 'Account Settings' found on the left of the page, and select your Account
  • Click on the 'Upgrade Now' link found next to your account type if you qualify for an upgrade and follow the prompts to upgrade.

FNB has a dedicated team that will assist you with switching your salary and/or debit orders:

  • Visit our website www.fnb.co.za and click on 'Debit Order Switching/ Salary Switching' under the 'Services' heading when you select the 'For Me' tab.
  • Call 0860 102 970 and select option 2 from the voice prompts and an assistant will attend to you.

To order an FNB Cheque Card (to be courier delivered to you):

  • Logon to FNB Online Banking www.fnb.co.za using your username and password
  • Click on the 'Cards' tab
  • Choose 'Additional Card' and follow the prompts to order card or
  • Call 087 575 9404 and press 1 for 'General Enquiries' to speak to a call centre agent who will assist you.

To register for eBucks:

  • Visit www.ebucks.com click on 'Join eBucks now'
  • Call 087 320 3200 or 086 123 3000

To change your Marketing Consent Indicator to 'Yes':

  • Logon to FNB Online Banking www.fnb.co.za using your username and password
  • Click on 'Settings' tab and select 'Personal details'
  • You can choose to receive communications on new products and services by updating the option under 'Communication Preferences'
  • This option will only be available if you've previously chosen not to receive communications on new products and services

To register for inContact:

  • Logon to FNB Online Banking (www.fnb.co.za) using your username and password.
  • Click on the 'Settings' tab and select 'inContact'
  • Follow the prompts to register for inContact
  • Call 087 575 9404 and press 1 for 'General Enquiries'

To update your inContact details online:

  • Logon to FNB Online Banking (www.fnb.co.za) using your username and password.
  • Update your inContact details

To register for FNB Online Banking:

  • Visit www.fnb.co.za and click on 'Register'
  • Call 087 575 9404 and press 2 for 'Online Banking'

To register for FNB Cellphone Banking:

  • Logon to FNB Online Banking (www.fnb.co.za) using your username and password.
  • Click on the 'Settings' tab and select 'Cellphone Banking'
  • Follow the prompts to register for Cellphone Banking
  • Call 087 575 9404 and choose press 3 for 'Cellphone Banking'

To register for telephone banking:

  • Call 087 575 9404 and press 1 for 'General Enquiries'

To register for the FNB Banking App:

  • Logon to FNB Online Banking (www.fnb.co.za) using your username and password.
  • Click on 'FNB App' on the 'Settings' tab'
  • Select related App for your device and follow the easy

To apply for an Overdraft:

  • Call 0860 FASTAP (0860 327 827)
  • Logon to FNB Online Banking (www.fnb.co.za) using your username and password and select the 'Accounts' tab
  • Select your Cheque Account
  • Click on 'Overdraft Maintenance' and follow the easy steps.

To apply for a Revolving Loan:

  • Call 0860 FASTAP (0860 327 827)
  • Logon to FNB Online Banking (www.fnb.co.za) using your username and password and select the 'Accounts' tab
  • Select your Cheque Account
  • Click on 'Revolving Loan - Apply' and follow the easy steps.

To apply for a Temporary Loan:

  • Logon to FNB Online Banking (www.fnb.co.za) using your username and password.
  • Click on 'New Account' found in the 'Accounts' tab
  • Select 'Myself' and select the 'Loans' tab from the FNB Product Shop, thereafter select 'Temporary Loan' or
  • Apply via the ATM - select 'More Options' from the Express Options Screen then 'My Banking Options' from the main menu and finally select 'Apply for Temporary Loan' or
  • Call 0860 11 22 44 and press 1 for 'General Enquiries', then press * to speak to a call centre agent who will assist you
  • Also available via Cellphone Banking if you are a registered user

To open a linked Savings Pocket:

  • Logon to FNB Online Banking (www.fnb.co.za) using your username and password.
  • Click on the 'Open up Savings Pocket' tab found on the left hand side and follow the steps or
  • Call 0860 11 22 44 and press 1 for 'General Enquiries', then press * to speak to a call centre agent who will assist you

Bank Your Change:

  • When you have opened a linked Savings Pocket the rounding up to the nearest rand is automatically activated.
  • To change any setting please call 0860 11 22 44 and press 1 for 'General Enquiries', then press * to speak to a call centre agent who will assist

To order a Smart Device:

  • Logon to FNB Online Banking (www.fnb.co.za) using your username and password.
  • Click on 'Tablet/Smartphone Order' on the 'Accounts' tab and follow the steps or
  • Call 0860 FASTAP (0860 327 827) or
  • Visit the dotFNB stores or
  • SMS 32812

To take up Smart Device Insurance:

  • When ordering a smart device, FNB will automatically ask you to opt for Smart Device Insurance

To apply for optional Roadside Assistance:

  • To apply call 0860 11 22 44
  • Press 1 for ' General Enquiries'
  • Press * to speak to a call centre agent who will assist you or
  • Apply at an FNB Branch

To apply for optional Debt Protection:

  • Call 0860 11 22 44 and press 1 for 'General Enquiries', then press * to speak to a call centre agent who will assist

To apply for a FNB Credit Card:

  • Logon to FNB Online Banking (www.fnb.co.za) using your username and password.
  • Click on 'New Account' found in the 'Accounts' tab
  • Select 'for me' and select the 'bank accounts' tab from the FNB Product Shop, thereafter select 'Credit Card'

To open up a Youth Account or Islamic Youth Account linked to your Cheque Account:

  • Logon to FNB Online Banking (www.fnb.co.za) using your username and password.
  • Click on 'New Account' found in the 'Accounts' tab
  • Select 'for me' then select the 'Bank Accounts' tab from the FNB Product Shop, thereafter select 'Youth Account' or 'Islamic Youth Account' under the heading "For a Child"

Not getting rewarded for your fuel purchases?

1. The fuel purchase was made using an FNB Debit or Petrol Card linked to your Cheque Account.

Please note that FNB does not do any manual Rewards allocations and review claims for purchases made using a Debit (not personalized, or embossed) or Petrol Card linked to an FNB Personal Cheque Account, as these cards do not qualify to earn Rewards.

With the introduction of Chip and Pin Cheque Cards on FNB Cheque Accounts, FNB is in the process of phasing out the Debit Cards and Petrol Cards linked to your Personal Cheque Account. The Chip and Pin Cheque Cards have enhanced functionality (customers can make online purchases), enhanced security (lost card protection), and are also personalized.

Any Cheque Account Rewards queries and complaints that do not relate to Cheque Card fuel purchases should please be submitted to info@fnb.co.za. You can also call 087 575 9404 to speak to an agent.

2. The fuel purchase was made using a Cheque Card, but was processed incorrectly by the fuel retailer.

Fuel purchases made using your FNB Visa Cheque Card qualify to earn eBucks Rewards on your fuel purchases. When you purchase fuel at a service station the transaction can be processed in one of two ways:

  • As a fuel transaction, with a specific fuel code (identifying the transaction as a fuel transaction), or
  • The transaction can be processed as a convenience store purchase

Unfortunately FNB cannot pay out Rewards on convenience store transactions as we have no way of identifying whether you purchased fuel or "bread and milk" from the convenience store. HOWEVER we do not want you to miss out, so please take note of the tips below to ensure that you are rewarded.

Please note that only instances referred to in point 2 will be reviewed for manually allocated Rewards.

What to do if you are not getting rewarded for your fuel purchases;

Please send us an email with the below documents and information so that we can ensure that you get your eBucks Rewards on your fuel purchases. If the fuel merchant has not correctly processed the transaction, we will approach the merchant on your behalf and ask them to rectify their process. Should you continue to experience the same problem at the same merchant, please try an alternative fuel merchant.

Please email the following to chequefuelrewards@fnb.co.za:

  • A copy of your Cheque Card fuel transaction slip;
  • Your FNB cheque account number

General tips

  • Check your statement to ensure that you received your eBucks Rewards on your fuel purchases for the relevant month - if you did not, please email us at chequefuelrewards@fnb.co.za or send a fax to 087 577 1100.
  • If the garage attendant takes your card into the store - chances are that your transaction is being processed as a convenience store transaction and you might not receive your rewards. Please check your next Cheque Account statement. If you did not get your rewards, please email us as per the steps below so that we can help.
  • Please note that fuel purchases made using a Debit Card or Petrol Card linked to you FNB Personal Cheque Account do not qualify to earn Rewards.
