What the Drive You Home service offers me:

  • The service offers 8 trips a year at a cost of R40.00 per month.
  • The service team consists of a backup driver and vehicle, and a lead driver who will drive you home using your own vehicle.

Roadside Assistance

Roadside Assistance is a free service for Cheque Account clients with an FNB Petrol card, or comes at a nominal fee for those who don't have the Petrol Card. It is only available to Cheque Account clients living and travelling in South Africa.

In the event of a roadside emergency, we will provide the following services to you:

  • Flat tyre: Have a spare tyre put onto your vehicle.
  • Flat battery: Assistance to have your vehicle started where possible.
  • Keys locked in vehicle: A locksmith to open your vehicle and retrieve the keys.
  • Run out of fuel: We will arrange for 10 litres of fuel to be delivered to you at your vehicle, but the cost of the fuel as well as the delivery will be for your account.
  • Tow-in: Where the cause of the problem is a mechanical or electrical breakdown or a motor vehicle accident, we will arrange for your vehicle to be towed to the nearest approved dealer or competent repairer.
  • Courtesy transport: Where your vehicle needs to be towed to a repairer, we will arrange for you and your passengers to be transported to their respective destinations where the breakdown has occurred, outside a radius of 100 km from your normal place of residence.
  • Hotel accommodation: Where the breakdown has occurred outside a radius of 100 km from your normal place of residence resulting in an overnight delay, we will arrange hotel accommodation for the occupants of the vehicle.
  • Car rental: Where the breakdown has occurred outside a radius of 100 km from your normal place of residence, resulting in overnight delay, but where the driver would prefer to continue with their journey immediately, we will arrange for a rental car to enable you to reach your destination, subject to qualifying for a rental vehicle in terms of the Car Rental Company's general terms and conditions.
  • Transmission of urgent messages: We will relay messages of delay or changed arrangements to a nominated family member or business colleague at the driver's request within 30 minutes of the call.
  • Vehicle recovery: Where the problem has occurred outside a radius of 100 km from your normal place of residence, requiring that you leave your vehicle for repair, we will arrange for the collection of the vehicle and will return it to your normal place of residence after the repair has been done.
  • Storage: Should the driver require it, we will arrange for the safe storage of the vehicle.

Access Rules

  • NEW - All qualifying current and credit cardholders who have access to SLOW Domestic Lounges will only be allowed to enter 90 minutes before their boarding time
  • NEW - Should the lounge capacity be reached, FNB Business Black, FNB Private Wealth and RMB Private Bank customers will be granted preferential access
  • All your entries into the SLOW Lounges are non-transferable. All unused visits will not roll over to the next month
  • Any additional entries (in excess of those mentioned above) will be charged for
  • Access will only be permitted on presentation and swiping of applicable card by the cardholder
  • Only valid cards will be accepted. No expired cards will be accepted
  • Only one card will be permitted per cardholder per visit and must be accompanied by a boarding pass
  • Both the card and the boarding pass must be issued in the same individual's name
  • SLOW reserves the right to decline entry should any of the lounges be full. Access is subject to availability, according to SLOW Lounge capacity and safety rules
  • SLOW reserves the right of admission and retains the right to deny access should they deem necessary
  • Cardholders under the age of 18 years will not be permitted access unless accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 years

Online Secure

Protect your FNB Cheque Card against fraudulent use online

Online Secure uses a One Time PIN (OTP) that is sent to you and comes at no extra cost.

To activate Online Secure on your FNB cheque card, you must be an Online Banking user.

Activate your card by logging on to your FNB Online Banking profile and following these prompts:

  • Go to the My Bank Accounts tab
  • Select the My Cards sub tab
  • Locate the card you would like to activate and select Activate Now under the Online Secure column
  • Follow the easy steps
  • Select I accept and agree to the Disclaimer above
  • Select Finish on the Activation Results screen

How to use Online Secure when shopping online:

Once activated, proceed to the checkout.

  • Type in your 16 digit FNB card number when prompted.
  • You will then be asked for a One Time PIN (OTP) which you will receive via SMS.

Access to Bidvest Premier Lounges

At airports without SLOW Lounges or where capacity in the SLOW Lounge has been reached, Private Wealth Cheque and Credit cardholders are welcome to use the Premier Lounges. Bidvest Lounges can be found at O. R. Tambo International, Cape Town International, King Shaka International, Port Elizabeth, East London and George Airports.

Qualifying criteria and fees

As a Private Wealth Cheque or Credit Card holder, you qualify for free entry based on your reward level as follows:
