If you are an FNB client with an active transactional account or FNB Debit or Credit Card*, you already have access to the Send Money service.

Login to Online Banking, Cellphone Banking, or the Banking App and select Send Money to make use of these safe and convenient ways to send money to anyone.

*You can send money to eWallet from a credit card using FNB Online Banking or FNB ATMs.

Cellphone Banking


  • Dial *120*321#
  • Select 'Send Money'
  • Select 'eWallet'
  • Select the account you want to send money from
  • Key in the cellphone number you want to send to
  • Enter the amount you want to send
  • Select 'Yes' to send an SMS with an ATM PIN to the recipient for easy withdrawal
  • Confirm the amount and cellphone number

To send money using FNB Cellphone Banking you need to be registered for Cellphone Banking.

This service excludes Windows 7.5 - 8 operated phones.

Online Banking


Once-off

  • Login to your Online Banking profile
  • Select 'Send Money'
  • Select 'Once-Off'
  • Enter the cellphone number of the recipient
  • Enter the amount you would like to send
  • Check the account you want to send money from (in the bottom right corner). If you would like to change the account, select the orange icon next to the account name.
  • Check and confirm the transaction
  • Enter your OTP (one time PIN)

From phonebook

  • Login to your Online Banking profile
  • Select 'Send Money'
  • Enter the amount you would like to pay the recipient*
  • Select the account you would like to send from
  • Select 'Send', 'Confirm' and enter the OTP.

*To add and save Cellphone numbers in your phonebook, select '+Add'.

Enter a name and the cellphone number you want to send to. Next, select 'Add Recipient'.

You can add up to 5 names and cellphone numbers at a time.

Send Money

  1. Login to FNB Banking
  2. Select 'Send Money'
  3. Select 'Send Money to eWallet'
  4. Select the account you want to send money from
  5. Enter the amount and cellphone you want to send to
  6. Select 'Send'
  7. Confirm

To send money using the FNB Banking App you need to download the app on your smartphone.

Simply visit your device's app store, search for the FNB Banking App and download!

FNB ATM


  • Insert your FNB Debit, Cheque or Credit Card at the FNB ATM and enter your PIN
  • Select 'More Options'
  • Select 'Send or Receive Money'
  • Select 'Send Money to eWallet'
  • Enter your date of birth. Read the terms and conditions and then select 'Proceed'
  • Key in the cellphone number you want to send money to and select 'Proceed'
  • Key in the amount you want to send and select 'Proceed'
  • Confirm that all the details are correct and select 'Proceed'
  • Remember to take your card before leaving the ATM

Draw cash at an FNB ATM


1. On your cellphone (if you have not received an SMS with an ATM PIN)

  • Dial *120*277# to access the eWallet
  • Select 'Get cash'
  • You'll receive an SMS with an ATM PIN

Note: If you have no airtime, dial *130*277#. This will allow you to buy airtime from the eWallet funds. Next, dial *120*277# to get an ATM PIN.

The SMS will contain the ATM PIN required to get cash. This PIN is valid for 4 hours.

At an FNB ATM after obtaining an ATM PIN

  • At the FNB ATM select the green button (Enter/Proceed) OR select 'Cardless Services'
  • Select 'eWallet Services'
  • Key in your cellphone number and select 'Proceed'
  • Key in the ATM PIN you received via SMS
  • Select the amount you want to withdraw
  • Take your cash
  • Make sure your transaction has ended or that you select 'Cancel' before leaving the ATM.

*You can also draw cash at other banks' ATMs, but the free withdrawal that you receive with the Send Money transaction will not apply.

Pay and/or request cash using eWallet at SPAR, SUPERSPAR, KWIKSPAR and Tops at SPAR retailers.

Plus, pay for fuel and goods using your eWallet at selected TotalEnergies sites.

Dial *120*277*4# and follow the steps.

You will automatically receive a one-time PIN (OTP) and a reference number on your cellphone (the OTP expires after 16 hours).

Tell the cashier if you would like to pay for goods &/ request for cash (if/where available in-store).

The cashier will ask for your cellphone number.

Enter the OTP you received into the card machine.

Dial *120*277*4# and follow the steps
You will automatically receive a one time PIN (OTP) and a reference number on your cellphone
(the OTP expires after 30 minutes)

Tell the cashier that you would like to make a purchase
The cashier will ask for your cellphone number
Enter the OTP you received into the card machine

1. Using your cellphone

  • Dial *120*277#
  • Select 'Prepaid'
  • Select 'Airtime', 'Data' or 'Electricity'
  • For airtime or data, select 'Me' or 'Enter Number' to use a different cellphone number
  • For Electricity, Enter the Meter Number
  • Select the amount you wish to buy for
  • Select 'Confirm'

2. Using the FNB Banking App

  • Launch the FNB Banking App
  • Select the 'eWallet' tab
  • Select 'Buy Prepaid'
  • Select 'Prepaid Airtime & Bundles'
  • Choose your network provider and amount
  • Enter the cellphone number
  • Select 'Purchase'
  • Confirm details and select 'Confirm'

Electricity

  • Login to the FNB Banking App
  • Select the 'eWallet' tab
  • Select 'Buy Prepaid'
  • Select 'Prepaid Electricity'
  • Choose amount
  • Enter your meter number
  • Select 'Purchase'
  • Confirm details and select 'Confirm'

You can pay for goods and services at selected merchants using FNB Cell Pay Point. The merchants include Ster Kinekor and Mango Airlines.

Limits


Daily and monthly transaction and channel limits apply to all eWallet Send Money services. When limits are reached, the use of funds or the service will not be possible. If the sender's SIM card is swapped, the daily limit will be reduced until the Sender can be authenticated. The FNB eWallet can hold up to R10 000 at any given time, which can be drawn at any FNB ATM or selected retailers. It can also be used to buy prepaid airtime, data, electricity, or to buy goods at your convenience.

Reversals


Call 087 575 9405 to request a Send Money transaction reversal.

Please note that FNB will not be held liable for money sent to an incorrect cellphone number. Reversals may incur a fee and are not guaranteed.

How to activate your FNB eWallet Card


Go to any FNB ATM

  • Remove the card from the pack
  • Insert your eWallet Card and enter your card PIN
  • Select 'Proceed'
  • Accept the terms and conditions
  • Enter your cellphone number and confirm
  • You will receive an SMS on your cellphone with a one time PIN (OTP)
  • Enter the OTP on the ATM keypad
  • Select when you would like to receive inContact SMSs notifying you of your transactions
  • Confirm to receive a success message
  • To change your eWallet Card PIN, insert your eWallet Card into the ATM. Enter the card PIN and follow the steps.

Your cellphone must be linked to your eWallet Card

  • Dial *120*277#
  • Select 'Protect eWallet'
  • Select 'Reset eWallet Card PIN'

Next, go to an FNB ATM (Do NOT enter your card yet)

  • Select 'Cardless Services' or 'Proceed'
  • Select 'eWallet Services'
  • Enter your cellphone number
  • Enter the one time PIN (OTP) sent to your cellphone
  • Select 'Reset Card PIN' on the ATM

Now insert your eWallet Card

  • Set your new card PIN
  • Confirm your new card PIN
  • Confirm your transaction

eWallet allows FNB customers to send money instantly to anyone with a valid South African cellphone number.
For your convenience, you can also transfer money from your eWallet to your account.

How it works


Instant, easy + secure

eWallet is an instant, easy and affordable money transfer service that allows you to send money to anyone.

  1. Send money from your FNB account
  2. Money is transferred securely and immediately
  3. Recipient receives an SMS after receiving money into the eWallet
 

No need to withdraw eWallet, just transfer funds.


Link eWallet to account via the app

You can transfer funds from your eWallet to your FNB account via the FNB App. Now you can swipe instead of withdrawing.

To do this, you need to link your eWallet to your FNB account:

  1. Open the FNB App & select the menu in the top left corner
  2. Select 'eWallet' from the menu
  3. Enter your Online Banking password to log in
  4. Select 'Continue' to link eWallet screen
  5. Enter your cellphone number and the OTP sent to you to verify your number.

Once verified, you can transfer funds from your eWallet to your FNB account.
