How to qualify


To get going, you must:

1. Have an FNB Private Clients Cheque Account that is active - which means you transact on the account - and where you either:

Have a minimum monthly deposit of:

R32 500 into an Private Clients Cheque, Islamic Cheque, Private Clients or One Account OR maintain a minimum monthly balance of:

R75 000 in an Private Clients Cheque or Islamic Cheque Account

2. Have an active Private Clients Credit Card

3. Login to the FNB Banking App at least once a month, using your own banking profile ( download the FNB Banking App)

4. Ensure ALL your FirstRand Bank accounts are in good standing (which means they are not overdrawn, in arrears, in default or missed a premium, and you are not undergoing sequestration or any legal process)

Things to remember

These requirements may change from time to time. We'll let you know when they do. If you stop meeting any one of these requirements at any time, you won't qualify for eBucks Rewards for the month.
If you only have an active Private Clients Cheque Account, you'll qualify to earn eBucks on reward level 1 only, as long as you meet the sufficient balance or deposit rule, log in to the FNB Banking App at least once a month and your account/s are in good standing.
If you only have an active Private Clients Credit Card, you'll qualify to earn eBucks on reward level 1 only, as long as you spend at least R7 000 per month or R21 000 over three months on your Private Clients Credit Card, log in to the FNB Banking App at least once a month and your account/s are in good standing. Although there are eight product groups that will allow you to move up a reward level, there are only five reward levels. You can hold more than one product from any of the product groups, but products in the same product group will be counted as a single reward level.
FirstRand Bank accounts include but are not limited to FNB, WesBank, RMB Private Bank and Ashburton.

How to move up a reward level


After you've qualified, the second step is to move up a reward level.
Your reward level is determined
by how many points you have collected in a calendar month. You collect points based on how you bank. So the more points you collect - the higher your reward level - the more eBucks you earn. It also determines the size of the discount you qualify for and the benefits, including eBucks Lifestyle that you qualify for.

Your reward level is reviewed around the 8th of each month. You can also check your level using the nifty eBucks Rewards Calculator .

Qualifying requirements


Before you can start earning eBucks, you must first meet the qualifying requirements.

To get going, you must:

1.1 Have a monthly deposit* of at least R32 500 into an FNB Fusion Private Clients Account, FNB Private Clients Cheque Account, FNB Islamic Private Clients Cheque Account, FNB One Account or FNB Private Clients Single Facility or R5 500 into an FNB Private Clients Cheque account for Spouses.
OR

1.2 Have average deposits* over six months of at least R32 500 into an FNB Fusion Private Clients Account, FNB Private Clients Cheque Account, FNB Islamic Private Clients Cheque Account or FNB Private Clients Single Facility or R5 500 into an FNB Private Clients Cheque account for Spouse.
OR

1.3 Maintain a monthly balance of at least R75 000 in an FNB Fusion Private Clients Account, FNB Private Clients Cheque Account, FNB Islamic Private Clients Cheque Account, FNB Private Clients Single Facility or FNB Private Clients Cheque account for Spouse.


*For the purposes of meeting the minimum deposit qualification criteria, "deposit" means the payment of your salary, income or drawings (where you are self-employed) into your qualifying FNB/RMB Private Bank Account and specifically excludes any payments or transfers from a credit product.


2. Ensure that ALL of your FirstRand Bank accounts are in good standing .

3. Use the electronic banking channel(s) specific to your age group:

Earn rules


Determining your reward level

  • Your reward level is calculated around the 8th of each month, based on the number of reward level points you've collected from FNB in the previous month.

Qualifying spend

  • Qualifying spend (i.e. spend on which you earn eBucks) excludes Cash@Till™, transfers, EFTs, debit orders, cash withdrawals, travellers' cheques, foreign exchange transactions and casino gambling transactions.
  • You don't earn eBucks on FNB Money Market Transactor Accounts.

Shopping

Shopping spend limits apply irrespective of whether you shop domestically or internationally.
  • In-store shopping

    • The amount on which you earn eBucks is limited to a total monthly rand spend (on qualifying card swipes only) of R15 000 on your qualifying FNB Fusion Private Clients Card, FNB Private Clients Credit Card and/or FNB Private Clients Cheque Card. Thereafter, you'll earn eBucks on in-store shopping purchases made using your FNB Fusion Private Clients Card or FNB Private Clients Credit Card at a flat rate of 0.5%.
    • You won't earn eBucks on in-store shopping purchases above the R15 000 spend limit made using your FNB Private Clients Cheque Card.
    • Your FNB Fusion Private Clients Card/FNB Private Clients Credit Card spend is considered first toward the spend limit.
  • Online shopping

    • The amount on which you earn eBucks is limited to a total monthly rand spend (on qualifying online spend only) of R5 000 on your qualifying FNB Fusion Private Clients Card, FNB Private Clients Credit Card and/or FNB Private Clients Cheque Card. Thereafter, you'll earn eBucks on online purchases made using your FNB Fusion Private Clients Card or FNB Private Clients Credit Card at a flat rate of 0.5%.
    • You won't earn eBucks on online purchases above the R5 000 spend limit made using your FNB Private Clients Cheque Card.
    • Your FNB Fusion Private Clients Card/FNB Private Clients Credit Card spend is considered first towards the spend limit.

Checkers & Shoprite

  • The amount on which you earn eBucks is limited to 20% of your total monthly qualifying FNB Fusion Private Clients Card, FNB Private Clients Credit Card and/or FNB Private Clients Cheque Card spend or a total rand spend (on Checkers and Shoprite in-store shopping only) of R3 000 per month, whichever occurs first.
  • You won't earn eBucks on purchases made at MediRite Pharmacies, Money Markets, Computicket, Computicket-Travel and cash at till withdrawals.

Engen

  • Earn up to R4/litre back in eBucks for your fuel spend at Engen only, based on the price of inland ULP 95. No earn will be awarded on fuel purchases at any other fuel retailers. For more information on the new fuel earn exclusive to Engen, click here .
  • The amount on which you earn eBucks is limited to 20% of your total monthly qualifying FNB Fusion Private Clients Card, FNB Private Clients Credit Card and/or FNB Private Clients Cheque Card spend or a total rand spend (on Engen fuel) of R2 500 per month, whichever occurs first.
  • You can fill up at any domestic Engen fuel station, but you must pay for your Engen fuel on the Engen forecourt. You won't earn eBucks if you pay for Engen fuel at the Quickshop store at the Engen fuel station.
  • A linked FNB Private Clients Petro Card will also qualify to earn eBucks when you fill up at any Engen fuel station.
  • Note: You'll not earn eBucks on Engen fuel spend above the R2 500 spend limit made using your FNB Fusion Private Clients Card, FNB Private Clients Cheque Card/ FNB Private Clients Credit Card.

Transport: Uber & Gautrain

  • The amount on which you earn eBucks is limited to 20% of your total monthly qualifying FNB Fusion Private Clients Card, FNB Private Clients Credit Card and/or FNB Private Clients Cheque Card spend or a total rand spend (on Uber rides and Gautrain) of R1 500 per month, whichever occurs first.
  • You only earn eBucks on Uber rides taken domestically.
  • Note: You'll not earn eBucks on Uber & Gautrain spend above the R1 500 spend limit made using your FNB Fusion Private Clients Card, FNB Private Clients Cheque Card/ FNB Private Clients Credit Card.

FNB Connect contracts and prepaid airtime

  • The amount on which you earn eBucks is limited to a total monthly rand spend of R1 000 on qualifying FNB Connect contracts and/or prepaid spend only and excludes any device premiums linked to your contract.

FNB Life

  • The amount on which you earn eBucks is limited to a total monthly rand spend of R7 000.
  • The monthly premiums on your qualifying FNB Life Insurance Policy, Funeral Plan and/or Accidental Death Plan must be paid on time from an FNB Fusion Private Account or FNB Private Cheque Account. You won't earn eBucks for any month where premiums weren't paid - either because you didn't make payment that month, or because FNB Life chose to waive your premium that month for any reason (for example in the month of your 'Premium Holiday').
  • The percentage earned back in eBucks is calculated based on the sum total of monthly premiums for all your qualifying FNB Life policies (including Life Insurance, Critical Illness Cover, Disability Cover, Debt-Linked Cover, Income Protection Cover, Funeral Plan and Accidental Death Plan).
  • You won't earn eBucks on premiums for the following cover types: Law on Call, Lifestyle Protection, Pay Protect, Smart Embedded, Smart Cover, Hospital/Health Cash Cover and all types of Credit Life Cover.
  • In the case of an FNB Life Policy, only the payer of the premiums will earn eBucks; other lives insured and/or beneficiaries named in the policy won't earn eBucks.

FNB Forex

  • The eBucks you'll earn will be paid in the month after the transaction was done.
  • You'll only earn eBucks on transaction charges on FNB Forex inward and outward payments in a foreign currency (not South African rand).
  • All FNB Forex transactions must be done via the FNB Banking App or FNB Online Banking , except where you have a standing instruction with FNB Forex to transact on your behalf.
  • You don't earn eBucks on foreign notes, travellers' cheques, foreign currency account (FCA) funding, customer foreign currency (CFC) account funding, cash passport, PayPal™, MoneyGram™ or any other foreign exchange products.
  • You also don't earn eBucks when you're transacting on a special discount or pensioner pricing.

Things to remember

  • Ensure that ALL your FirstRand Bank accounts are in good standing. This means your accounts aren't overdrawn, in arrears or in default, you haven't missed a premium, and you aren't undergoing sequestration, business rescue, or collection or liquidation proceedings (excluding debt review proceedings). FirstRand Bank accounts include, but are not limited to FNB, WesBank, RMB Private Bank and Ashburton accounts.
  • Qualifying financial transactions include payments, transfers and purchases, but exclude debit orders, inter-account transfers, deposits and the viewing of accounts.
  • Card spend excludes Cash@Till™, EFTs and Transfers.
  • An account that's active means that there's regular activity on the account or that the account is still being used for its original intended purpose.
