Step: Hold kickoff meeting

  1. Action: Use the kick-off meeting agenda and discussion to:
    • Align on the situation and need for a Task Team;
    • Agree Task Team composition (members);
    • Align on the mandate (objectives, scope);
    • Align on roles and responsibilities;
    • Agree a meeting cadence (day, time, duration, agenda);
    • Daily huddle;
    • Weekly Update;
    • Design the process to develop the plan (including holistic communications plan);
    • Schedule meetings required to develop and approve the Task Team Plan;
    • Agree the immediate communications required, in the Communications Framework template; and
    • Schedule your first Weekly Task Team Update meeting, and your daily huddles, in the calendar.

Step: Hold first weekly task team meeting

  1. Action: Run the first Weekly Task Team meeting, using the meeting guide. Immediately instill high levels of discipline on the meeting principles - and agenda - to keep the Task Team focused and effective, and to create a feeling of decisive leadership, progress (solving problems and moving forward), and 'in this together, committed to doing what it takes'.
