Limits on FNB eWallet

Daily Limits

Limit on Card: R3 000
Limit on Cellphone: R3 000
Total Daily Spend Limit:* R5 000

* The daily spend limit of R5 000 includes cash withdrawals, purchases at till and all prepaid purchases.

Note: the eWallet can only hold up to R5000 at any time

Reduced limits - SIM swap

If a Cellphone user has recently performed a SIM swap and wishes to Send Money with eWallet using FNB Cellphone Banking, the Send Money process will be different. During the Send Money process on the *120*321# platform, the Sender will be requested to enter their FNB Cheque Card details (the last 4 digits of their card and ATM PIN.)

In addition, the FNB Cellphone Banking limit (including Prepaid and Send Money) will be reduced to R500 per day for 72 hours. After the 72 hour waiting period, normal limits will be restored. This limit is imposed as a security measure to protect the sender's Cellphone Banking profile.

If your Cellphone number changes and you have an eWallet card:
Call the eWallet Call Centre on 087 575 9405 to cancel your card once your funds are finished. You can then get a new card at selected FNB Branches and link it to your new cellphone number.

FNB eWallet Balance

The balance in an FNB eWallet may not exceed R5 000 at any given time. Any Send Money transaction which may cause an eWallet balance to exceed R5000 will be declined.

Reversals

Should you Send Money to the incorrect Cellphone number using eWallet, FNB will not be held liable. You may call the eWallet Call Centre on 087 575 9405 to reverse the transaction should the funds still be available in the recipient eWallet. Please note that a reversal of an incorrect Send Money transaction may incur a fee and is not guaranteed.
