If you are an FNB client with an active transactional account or FNB Debit or Credit Card*, you already have access to the Send Money service.

Login to Online Banking, Cellphone Banking, or the Banking App and select Send Money to make use of these safe and convenient ways to send money to anyone.

*You can send money to eWallet from a credit card using FNB Online Banking or FNB ATMs.

You need to have the following valid documents:

  • South African ID or passport
  • Proof of address

Foreign passport holders must have up-to-date documents and valid permits which must be in good standing in the country in which it was issued.

Cellphone Banking


  1. Dial *120*321#
  2. Select 'Send Money'
  3. Select 'Zimbabwe'
  4. Select the account you wish to send money from
  5. Key in the first 8 numbers of your recipient's Zimbabwean ID number
  6. Key in your recipient's Zimbabwean cellphone number
  7. Enter the amount you wish to send in rands
  8. Key in the 4-digit transfer code (numbers only) - this can be any 4 numbers that you wish to select. Confirm transaction details and accept the terms of use.
  9. You will receive an SMS or email that confirms:
    • Recipient's Zimbabwean ID number
    • transfer amount
    • a voucher reference number
  10. You must communicate the voucher reference number to the recipient. In addition, the recipient must also present their Zimbabwean ID document, as well as the money transfer amount at the OK Zimbabwe Ltd Money Counter.
  11. To enable cash-out of the funds the recipient will need to present their original Zimbabwean ID and the cellphone for which the EcoCash wallet was registered.
  12. To send money using FNB Cellphone Banking you need to be registered for Cellphone Banking.

Online Banking


  1. Login to FNB Online Banking
  2. Select 'Send Money'
  3. Select 'To Zimbabwe'
  4. Enter the recipient's details:
    Zimbabwean ID number, Recipients Zimbabwean cellphone number and the amount in ZAR you want to send
  5. Accept the Terms of Use to confirm
  6. Select the account you wish to Send Money from
  7. Make sure you have entered the correct Zimbabwean ID number and Zimbabwean cellphone number and that you accept the Terms of Use
  8. Enter your confirmation One Time PIN (OTP)
  9. Transaction is successful
  10. You will receive an SMS or email that confirms:
    • Recipient's Zimbabwean ID number
    • transfer amount
    • a voucher reference number
  11. You must communicate the voucher reference number to the recipient. In addition, the recipient must also present their Zimbabwean ID document, as well as the money transfer amount at the OK Zimbabwe Ltd Money Counter.

  1. Login with the FNB Banking App
  2. Select 'Send Money'
  3. Select 'To Zimbabwe'
  4. Read the information and select 'Continue'
  5. Select 'From Account'
  6. Enter the amount, recipient cellphone number and recipient's Zimbabwean ID number
  7. Select 'Send'
  8. Agree to the Terms of Use
  9. Confirm that all is correct (recipient's ID number)
  10. You will receive an SMS or email that confirms:
    • Recipient's Zimbabwean ID number
    • transfer amount
    • a voucher reference number
  11. Communicate the voucher details to the recipient.

The recipient will need to present their original Zimbabwean ID and the cellphone for which the EcoCash wallet was registered to enable cash-out of the funds.

Daily limit: R1 500 per day

Online Banking + the FNB Banking App

Daily limit: R3 000 per day

The combined maximum amount you can send is R3 000 daily and R10 000 monthly. This includes prepaid airtime and prepaid electricity purchases and money send to eWallet.

Costs are subject to change. There is no additional cost to the recipient.

Please note


  • Once the recipient collects the cash from the participating OK Zimbabwe LTD Money Counter, the sender will receive an SMS or email confirming the recipient's collection of the cash.
  • If the money is not collected at an OK store within 14 days, it will be reversed to the sender's FNB account. Bank fees will not be reversed.

FNB's Zimbabwe Money Transfer is an instant, easy and affordable money transfer service that allows FNB customers residing in South Africa to send money to an individual in Zimbabwe who has a valid Zimbabwean identity document. The funds can be collected instantly at a participating OK Zimbabwe Ltd Money Counter.

How it works


Beyond our borders

Zimbabwe Money Transfer allows FNB customers residing in South Africa to send money to an individual in Zimbabwe with a valid Zimbabwean ID.

  1. Send money from your FNB account using any of our digital channels.
  2. You will receive an SMS/email notification that the transaction was successful including a voucher reference number. (Note: FNB does not send an SMS/email to the recipient.)
  3. You must provide the recipient with the voucher reference number and money transfer amount.
  4. Money is transferred securely and immediately.
  5. Recipient collects money from an OK Zimbabwe Ltd Money Counter.
