The Credit Card safety net

Have the convenience of having your credit card account paid on time, every time!

Did you know that FNB Credit Card's Auto Payment Solution allows you to pay your account with ease and serves as a safety net? Have the convenience of having your credit card account paid automatically on time, every time. The Auto Payment Solution works with a 'built in' calculator which takes into account any pre-payments and deducts these amounts from the required debit order amount.

Credit cardholders can select one of six convenient Auto Payment Solutions which will be applied monthly to pay your account:

  • Full Straight Account Balance - Pay the full outstanding straight facility balance on your credit card
  • Fixed Amount - Allows you to pay a fixed amount of your choice. (Please note that this amount cannot be less than the minimum amount owed)
  • Full Amount - Settles the full outstanding balance including your budget instalment(s) for the relevant month
  • Full Straight Statement Balance - Settles the full amount outstanding on the straight facility as indicated on your statement
  • Minimum Payment Amount Due - Only the minimum amount outstanding on your account is deducted ie 5% of your full outstanding balance
  • Percentage Payment - This option allows you to select what percentage of your outstanding balance you would like to be processed every month, this amount can be anything from 5% - 100%

Benefits of an Auto Payment Solution:

  • Paying your credit card via a debit order will not attract any transactional fees/charges on your FNB Credit Card (exclude cash withdrawal, fuel transactions, EFT's and casino transactions)
  • Save time and money
  • Convenience and peace of mind that your account is paid regardless of where you are

Easy steps to set up an Auto Payment Solution:

  • Log on to your internet banking profile and click on My Bank Account, then My Accounts
  • Select the relevant credit card and click on Settings
  • Then click on Auto Payment Solution and select your Auto Payment Option
  • You will then be required to enter the details of the account from which you want to make the payment
  • A confirmation screen will pop up, click on Confirm and then Finish

Or

  • Call the number on the back of your credit card, and you will be asked to provide us with the following information (If you are paying from an FNB Account you will not need all the information indicated below)
    - Bank name
    - Branch name
    - Branch code
    - Account type
    - Bank account number
    - Name and surname
    - Your FNB Credit Card account number (16 digits)
    - Payment option, i.e. amount you wish to be debited monthly - (Full Straight Account Balance, Fixed Amount, Full Straight Statement Balance, Minimum Payment Amount Due, Percentage Payment) A cancelled cheque / Bank Statement

On the payment due date, your amount payable (as per the payment option you have selected) will automatically be deducted from your bank account and your credit card will be credited subject to one day "uncleared effects".

Protect your FNB Visa Card against fraudulent use online

Verified by Visa uses a One Time PIN (OTP) that is sent to you and comes at no extra cost.

To activate Verified by Visa on your FNB Visa Card, you must be an Online Banking user.

Verified by Visa will automatically be activated on your FNB Credit Card from February 2014.

You will also be able to activate your card by logging on to your FNB Online Banking profile and following these prompts:

  • Go to the 'My Bank Accounts' tab
  • Click on 'My Cards' sub tab
  • Locate the card you would like to activate and click on the 'Activate Now' under the Verified by Visa column
  • Follow the easy steps
  • Select 'I accept and agree to the Disclaimer above'
  • Click 'Finish' on the Activation Results screen

How to use Verified by Visa when shopping online:

  • Once activated proceed to the checkout. Input your 16 digit FNB Visa Card number when prompted.

Access Rules

  • NEW - All qualifying current and credit cardholders who have access to SLOW Domestic Lounges will only be allowed to enter 90 minutes before their boarding time
  • NEW - Should the lounge capacity be reached, FNB Business Black, FNB Private Wealth and RMB Private Bank customers will be granted preferential access
  • All your entries into the SLOW Lounges are non-transferable. All unused visits will not roll over to the next month
  • Any additional entries (in excess of those mentioned above) will be charged for
  • Access will only be permitted on presentation and swiping of applicable card by the cardholder
  • Only valid cards will be accepted. No expired cards will be accepted
  • Only one card will be permitted per cardholder per visit and must be accompanied by a boarding pass
  • Both the card and the boarding pass must be issued in the same individual's name
  • SLOW reserves the right to decline entry should any of the lounges be full. Access is subject to availability, according to SLOW Lounge capacity and safety rules
  • SLOW reserves the right of admission and retains the right to deny access should they deem necessary
  • Cardholders under the age of 18 years will not be permitted access unless accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 years
